Baby Back Ribs in Your RV

FreedomRV-RibRecipe

Football season is coming up and tailgating is great in your RV. Before you head out, plan the trip ahead of time. You’ll need to find a nearby campground for the night. Find out when the gates open so you can get in, get a great spot and start tailgating with breakfast. Freedom RV carries many of the extra amenities you may need for tailgating in your RV. If you just got your RV and this is your first time tailgating, you may need some recipe ideas.

Baby Back Ribs

  • Baby back ribs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Badia blackened redfish seasoning
  • Cumin
  • Hickory barbecue sauce

Be sure you have a full bottle of propane for your grill as these take a few hours. You can also cook the ribs most of the way the day before, then finish the last hour on the grill.

Coat the ribs liberally with the spices. Set the oven or grill to 285 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the ribs, uncovered, for 3 hours. If you are preparing them the day before, remove them from the oven or grill, let them cool, then cover and store in the refrigerator until you are ready to eat.

Transfer the ribs to the grill if you cooked them in the oven. Set the grill to medium and grill the ribs for about an hour. Turn them a few times and watch for flare ups. If you prefer the barbecue sauce on the ribs, brush the sauce on about 15 minutes before you remove them from the grill, otherwise serve the sauce on the side.

Serve with your favorite tailgating side.

Tailgating Drinks

Whether you’re tailgating at the game or at home, tailgating drinks are great to have. You can make both of these ahead of time and keep them in the cooler. Make sure you have some ice to serve with them.

Raspberry Beer Cocktail

12 servings

  • 1 ½ cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • 7 bottles of beer
  • 2 12-oz. Containers frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate that has been thawed
  • 1 C. vodka

Mash the raspberries in a bowl, then transfer them to a pitcher, jug or punchbowl. Stir in the beer, lemonade concentrate and the vodka. Shake it well, then serve over crushed ice. You can make this drink the day before and keep it in the cooler.

Cajun Lemonade

Mix together 2 cups light rum, 1 12-ounce can thawed frozen lemonade concentrate and 1 tsp. hot sauce. You can store this in the cooler until you are ready to serve. When you are ready to serve the drinks, add 1 liter of chilled club soda. Serve over crushed ice with sugarcane sticks and lemon slices.

Enjoy your tailgating and be sure to have a designated driver if you are tailgating at the football field. If you are in your own home or RV and are watching the game on TV, no designated driver is needed, but you may want a designated chef and bartender!
