Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe

Whether you are making Thanksgiving dinner in your RV or at home, you’ll want to ensure that you have the perfect dinner. Even though a turkey might not fit in an RV oven, unless you have a residential-sized oven, you can still make the juiciest turkey for your family and friends. Just be sure to pack your turkey roaster on the upcoming Thanksgiving RV trip!

Perfect Turkey

Remove the pan liner and the rack from the turkey roaster. Plug in the roaster and set it to the highest setting – 450 or 500 degrees Fahrenheit to preheat it. Rinse the turkey. Prepare your favorite stuffing. Place the turkey on the rack in the liner pan. Coat the turkey with your favorite rubbing spices. If you don’t have a favorite or would like to do something a little different this year, use salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, poultry seasoning and Badia Blackened Redfish seasoning.

Rub softened butter over the top of all of the spices, making sure you get the sides of the turkey. Stuff turkey. Place the liner pan in the roaster, taking care not to burn your hands. The base will be hot. Cover and cook at 450 to 500 degrees for 30 minutes. Turn the heat down to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and cook until the turkey is done according to the instructions for your bird. The stuffing and the bird at its thickest point should be at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Since you are using a turkey roaster for the turkey, the oven is free for pies, though it is a good idea bake those the day before. Add mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread, succotash, butternut squash, sweet potatoes or yams, cranberry sauce, green beans and you’ll have the perfect Thanksgiving dinner. If you run out of space, put each vegetable that is done in an oven-proof dish. Set the oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Slide the veggies in the oven to keep them warm until everything else is ready.
