Healthy Snack Options for Your Travels


Eating healthy on the road can seem difficult at first. However, a few simple recipes can help you eat healthier, tastier foods while living the RV lifestyle. These three delicious recipes are exactly what you need to enjoy healthier sweet treats on the go.

 Pineapple Coconut Energy Balls

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup whole pitted dates
  • 1/2 cup pineapple tidbits (drained)
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seed
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 cup oats


  1. Combine all of the above ingredients in a food processor. Process until a thick paste forms.
  2. Roll roughly 1 tablespoon of the mixture into a small ball, then continue the process with the remaining paste.
  3. Store in the refrigerator until eating.

Yogurt-Filled Raspberries

What you’ll need:

  • Your favorite vanilla or other flavor yogurt
  • Fresh raspberries


  1. Fill a Ziplock bag with yogurt and snip the corner off to create a piping bag.
  2. Pipe the yogurt into the raspberries, then refrigerate and enjoy.

Copycat Trader Joe’s Gone Bananas

What you’ll need:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 heaping cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil


  1. Slice the banana and place the slices on a tray in the freezer. Freeze until solid.
  2. Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a small microwave-safe container. Microwave the mixture for 30 seconds, then stir and microwave for another 15 seconds. Stir again.
  3. Continue heating until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  4. Set the chocolate aside to cool.
  5. Dip the frozen bananas into the chocolate to coat them on all sides. Place the coated bananas on waxed paper, then transport them back to the freezer. Keep frozen until serving.
