In less than a 3-hour drive from Seattle, you can be hiking among jagged peaks, admiring more than 300 glaciers, taking a dip in crystal clear waters and camping among some of the northwest’s most breathtaking scenery.

Things To Do at North Cascades National Park

Visitors have endless options for outdoor adventures at North Cascades National Park. They can hike, cruise along the scenic North Cascades Highway on bicycle, camp, climb, fish, kayak, raft, horseback ride, birdwatch and enjoy just about every outdoor activity imaginable. The park also offers a long list of Ranger-led programs and naturalist tours provided by the most skilled and knowledgeable National Park Rangers.

Fees and Information

There is no entrance fee for North Cascades National Park, which makes it the ideal park to visit at any time. The North Cascades National Park Complex is always open, but the North Cascades Highway is often closed in winter due to avalanches. The road is typically reopened in early May. The park is also home to four visitor centers located throughout the park to help visitors make the most of their experiences.

Camping at North Cascades National ParkĀ 

North Cascades National Park is home to some of the best campgrounds in the country. The Goodell Creek Campground, Newhalem Creek Campground, Gorge Lake Campground, Colonial Creek Campground and Hozomeen Campground are all accessible by car. Visitors are welcome to have a maximum of eight people, three tents and two vehicles at each site.

The park also offers wilderness camping and three boat-in campgrounds at Diablo Lake, Ross Lake and Lake Chelan. If you’re looking for the ultimate outdoor experience, North Cascades National Park is the place for your spring and summer adventures.
